Autocon Motorsports today announced that Canadian John Graham will join the team in the JeanRichard #12 Lola entry at the season finale ALMS event, the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, October 19-21.

Graham, who will once again feature the National Hockey League Players’ Association logo, has a superb history is sports cars including seven appearances at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. Graham has competed in the ALMS with class podium finishes at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Petit Le Mans, Portland International Raceway, Infineon Raceway, Mosport International Raceway, and in Adelaide, Australia.

"John is a welcome addition to the Autocon team," said team owner Mike Lewis. "His introduction at Mosport was a bit snake bit with rain during one practice day, and then when one of the GT2s took out our car on lap nine before John even got race laps. We felt he deserved another shot this year and Chris (McMurry) agreed to let John take his seat at Laguna. Everyone involved with us is all about ‘team’.”

The season finale will feature the driver lineup of Lewis, Graham, and everyone’s favorite, Bryan Willman. "I am looking forward to the Laguna event," continued Graham. "The track has so much history and offers challenges that are very unique. The elevation changes are dramatic and I can only imagine the thrill of launching out of the corkscrew in a car so capable. I feel privileged and am excited at this unexpected opportunity."

"This race just whets my appetite for next year as Autocon expands to a two car team. My abbreviated experience at Mosport built onto my respect for Mike and the entire group he has assembled. They make privateers proud by launching a competitive effort against the world's best sports car teams and drivers. We will mix it up with the Audis, the Porsches, the Dyson team, and the rest. It will be a fun weekend."

Autocon ran in the P1 class in 2005, and stepped up its 2006 effort by acquiring the race-winning, AER-powered Lola EX257. They have done an outstanding job against the much more established P1 teams, including two podium finishes and leading the overall at Lime Rock this summer. Next season brings the next evolution in the team as it expands to two Lola EX257s.

Prior to the Laguna event the Autocon troupe will compete at the premier Petit Le Mans, a 10-hou, 1,000 mile test of speed and endurance at Road Atlanta on September 30. Lewis, McMurry and Willman will be the lineup.
